Default Adding someone to my policy for a week

I know there will be a lot of variables, but has anyone added a young fella to their policy for a few days/week and could give me an idea of the kind've money involved? 10's? Hundreds?
Of course the solution will be to ring the Flux - and I will when I have the time - but anyone's own experiences will be help me decide if its even worth pursuing.

He's 23

I would say it will be heavily impacted on the amount of NCB & prior experience. If he has little or no NCB, it's going to cost a lot and more than likely they may not even provide cover. I believe Sky Insurance do temp cover in case Flux don't play ball.

Too many variables.

Call the insurance and ask.

Whilst paraphrasing my original post is useful, this doesn't in fact provide any value or insight into the range of monies people have paid for a similar situation.

Every case and quote will depend on the circumstances but try these people -

Tempcover - Temporary Car Insurance pcrid 75247849040793 pkw temporary%20car%20insurance%20quotes pmt be

Even you said there are many variables, so the only answer is get a quote!

Yeah I get that. I'm still interested to learn what people have paid under similar circumstances though.

A supplementary question then - can you get temporary cover on a car that is already insured elsewhere?? I would've imagined not due to the potential minefield in the event of a claim on a car that is insured by 2 different parties simultaneously?

its impossible to say though.

You may even find that your insurance company even refuse to cover him/her because of the type of car, driving history and age.

Off the shelf temp cover is extortionate. I looked into temp cover for my beater for 3 months and it was twice the price of 12 months cover.

i see no issue. When you change from one company to another the respective policies will overlap so insurers will have a contingency in place if something were to happen.

The onus would be on who was driving at the time as well. So probably no different to say, if someone was driving your car on their own insurance/trade insurance and had a smash.
