I do like a project and would be able to do it myself however I don't have the space or time at the moment, so looks like the dream is over for now. Oh bugger.

I totally believe it. The only times I have ever been caught out with an S2000 are with cold tyres at slow speeds in the wet.

Fortunate enough to catch it each time, but those not used to the car will be in trouble.

Bridgestones are especially bad for this.

take the money from insurance, i had the same thing happen to me, wasnt my fault though, i should jave taken the offer in hindsight. Remember when you get it all fixed up it will still be a cat d/ c so less value

How many days had you been driving this s before you totaled it? It reads as if it is less then a week. Is that correct?

You aren't the first and defo won't be the last person to come on here after ditching their s2000 after a week of ownership.

I would expect the insurance company to write it off due to the air bags going off.

I'd be interested in the passenger side headlight if it's a facelift?

We've all hit "S2000-specific" diesel on the road (except cheshire_carper ), some are lucky others aren't.

With the cross-member deformed like that I'd get what I could from the insurance and start again, if it really was just wing, headlight + bonnet you'd be in with a chance. But there's a lot of bending back of the tub needed too.

Too soon yes.

I got it on the 4th August so a week and a half before the accident, I did about 600 miles in that time (went down the country) so I was more used to it than a weeks ownership suggests, but there was diesel on the wet road (the police said there was a spill and you could see a trail all down the road). Plus the rear tyres were quite thin and of hedge finder brand (they were first on my list to change).
