I had mine for 5 years, never came across the honda diesel in that time.

I did like to get the back end out but never in the wet. The pendulum effect is too unpredictable in the S.

You needed to.

Patches of diesel like that, one could only expect a pile of cars in the hedge at that particular point.

Wet roads in this car = slow down.

I have arguably a much more temperamental car with slicks on. Wet = slow slow slow.

Hi Mate,

Unlucky - I've only had my s2000 for a year and I nearly hedged it a few times when I first got it, esp in the wet. And occasionally it still suprises me....

Don't beat yourself up about it.

It looks pretty battered to me, if the insurance company allocate it a write off and offer you anywhere near £7k ,I'd take it and start again. You should be able to negotiate the settlement using adverts for cars of similar value etc.

It's a shame as the clean cam cover and general cleanliness under the bonnet suggest it had been looked after....

If you can buy it back for a couple of £k maybe it's worth breaking, but I personally wouldn't bother as I've not got the time/patience.

Good luck

Dave

Messy repair; forget it.

I once spun mine in a traffic jam om a dry day on an industrial estate, due to a leaking water main. WSH!

I guess as a biker I'm more 'tuned in' to looking out for diesel, especially on roundabouts near fuel stations.

There but for the grace of him upstairs...

20 mph ? seriously??
...those not used to the car will be in trouble.

Bridgestones are especially bad for this.
Agreed. I ditched Bridgestones some years back for that very reason. Great in the dry, but they made the car too skittish and unpredictable in the wet IMO (even after a decent GEO setup).

Yeah, I normally decelerate at the slightest chance in blacktop colour or condition.

But I suppose if the wet patch is hidden by a line of traffic, or something, there's always a danger...

Biggest beef for local bikers is this crumble topping that Ringworm lob everywhere. Right in your wheel line, someone's put a row of marbles.

Wow 20mph !!!!! That's "UNBELIEVABLE" damage, your very lucky Lamp posts are hollow and designed to crumple, otherwise you'd have major issues
