Default Advice on new bushes

Hi,

Had my MOT a few months back and got an advisory that the nearside and offside (rear bush) suspension arm rubber bushes are deterioated. I am assumuing this is the front compliance bush?

Is this thr right part?

http://www.tegiwaimports.com/mugen-f...da-s2000-3896/

Is it worth also changing the lower control arm front bushing whilst getting this done? If so where can I buy this bush? Is this it?

http://www.hendyperformance.co.uk/pr...51353-xgs-s0n0

Hope some of you guys can offer some advice.

Thanks,
Mike

Sounds about right on all your assumptions, you can probably get both sets from either Si@Hendy or Tegiwa to save on postage. I'd only replace what needs to be done - however you are possibly getting into "seized geometry adjusters" territory - if you are lucky nothing is stuck and you can just get some new Mugen compliance bushes pressed in but prepare yourself for maybe having to get the wishbones cut out and fitting new bushes and cam collar adjusters.

Have a look at the powerflex compliance bush. It's very good but the Mugan one you have found is also an option if you just want to replace the standard . And yes that's the right one. Avoid the polybush compliance bush.

^^^ I agree

Replaced all my bushes with powerflex, freed up the geo and the ride is better.

Great option not cheap but are excellent... Steer clear of polybush.

I'd go for as near to OEM bonded rubber as you can - I always like this guide to help me chose;

I agree with Mr Pitts I dont see any differenace between Polybush and Powerflex , its just a lump of polyurethane rubber. The only variation can be the "shore" hardness value . I believe Powerflex can supply various hardness.

But yes the Poly bush compliance bush is next to useless , I fitted one , removed it and threw both in the bin.

For friction free movement of the compliance joint I doubt there is a better option than the Powerflex part. The OEM and Mugen parts both require the rubber to distort i shear to provide movement, the power flex part has effectively a ball joint. Lime a rubber rose joint in fact and they move very freely.
