Breville:
I use mine for everyday use, I commute into Crawley with it and found it fine. The S2000 requires a lot of attention and feeling to drive safely, but it does give a lot of feeling especially in bad conditions. I know a number of places where the back will break out in the wet, but if you know your route, this shouldn't cause any surprises.
A bigger concern may be a question of economics. The S2000 is not a cheap car to run, expect less than 30 mpg on SUPER unleaded. It also consumes tyres, I get about 14,000 miles on the rears and 20,000 on the fronts, with the odd track day. Expect to pay

Breville,
My S2k is my only vehicle, so I use it every day for short commutes and for trips.
I love it and don't regret at any time my decision to buy it - even when the roads are cold and damp and greasy. I describe it as a split personality car - driven with common sense and a light right foot and below 4,000 rpm it's docile, relatively quiet and nice to pootle around in.
Put the pedal to the metal and you have a beast that sounds absolutely fantastic, goes like stink and is the best driving experience of any car I've ever owned.
It's a true sports roadster with lots of "what the hell was that?" exclusivity
If you get lots of heavy snow where you are - like more than we do in Shropshire and mid-Wales , cadge a lift off someone with an SUV
Pete

[B]The big difference I noticed between a sports saloon and the S2000 was the noise level - when you are doing 85mph in an Audi/Alfa/BMW - would probably don't hear much. In an S, you are 4000rpm+ and you hear it.
