Default Alarm / immobiliser / ignition fuses

Right,

Bar two flat batteries in the remote fobs (unlikely, am going to resume my search at lunch), I'm assuming that the alarm system is the cause of my car not starting.

But...as it'll be a

Hmmm...

This sounds a bit familiar.

Something similar recently happened to me, the alarm board went pop and the car was basically immobilised and wouldnt start.

I looked at pretty much all the fuses and nothing was wrong.

Hope its a simple fuse / different issue in your case.

In the end I installed a clifford as this could be a recurring problem.

Check the "alternator" fuse under the bonnet. That can blow easily and stop the immobiliser from disarming.

Hmmm, many of the fuses are under the dash, above your right leg.

However, presumably the UK alarm has a separate fuse in its own "box" as it is only fitted at the docks when the S2000 arrives in the UK (well, at least that was the case for a pre-MY04)?

I thought the immobiliser was part of the ECU. I remember Bibbs saying you could get round the immobilser by swapping the UK ECU with a JDM one.

Having read all the Honda alarm horrors, if it was me I'd be inclined to just get an aftermarket CAT1 installed instead. Assuming that is, they can undo the damage being done by the Honda.

There are mobile auto electricians around. Maybe one of them would be worth a try rather than towing it to Honda?

Honda disabled my immobiliser by rewiring it. Not sure how they did but leads me to think it's not in the ECU
