alarm trouble
Car has been sitting in the garage over the icy winter. The battery went flat, and I've replaced it with a brand new one (63 quid with the 101 code which has replaced the 100). However alarm is still knackered -
1. close all doors
2. hold down bonnet alarm switch (is next to the air intake on mine)
3. connect battery
4. hazards flash for 45secs then go off (no alarm noise at this stage)
5. let go bonnet switch
6. alarm light flashing as normal in cabin, alarm appears to be set as normal
7. but alarm fob(s) can't deactivate alarm (batteries ok in these)
8. open door alarm goes off, fobs can't stop it so have to pull the battery
(9. key in ignition will switch dash on but cant start as still immobilised so no green key symbol)
so it seems as though the alarm has forgotten about the fobs, maybe as the battery has been flat for some time (several weeks at least).
Its remiss of me not to have started the car up during the cold, but it has been sat in a garage so shouldnt really be a problem.
Any ideas before I pay Mr MobileAlarmman loadsa cash to rip the whole crumby honda alarm out and put something sensible in? I don't want to even talk to a honda dealer about this if I can avoid that. I very much doubt there is a way of manually 'resetting' the alarm as that would negate the whole point of having one to start with. But you never know.
Anyone been through this pain? I've read some threads but none seem to quite match this scenario.

Sounds like some of the issues I was having. Though the Battery didn't turn out to be the problem after all.
Most probably something to do with the H&P Unit.
