Default Alpine head unit into S2000

So I've tried to wire in my Alpine CDE-9882Ri to my S2000 tonight, and altough it powers up ok (and sounds rather good), the dash controls don't work. I ordered an Autoleads PC99-X61 which is for the S2000, but the little black box that came with it was actually labelled as PC99-X60, for another Honda. Is this right? Or am I missing something here?

Also, I want to put the USB connector in the glovebox, i will be using it for both memory sticks and ipod, I can see how to run the wire from the head unit quite easily, but do I need to drill a hole in the glovebox, and if so, where?

May be easy questions but I want to do it right and not wreck it as I'm lookig forward to some upgraded sounds.

Bottom corner on passenger side worked best for me, if you have a head unit that shows tracks and artwork save your self the trouble and use a hard drive fitted behind the removable panel on passenger side
I think staples are doing a 1 tb drive for less than £60

When using USB mini Harddrives not many headunit have enough power to power them up, so you need a micro one.

^ My mate had this problem.

USB pens are no problem due to low power consumption.

Hi Vince,

The PC99-X60 will also work on the S, but you also need to get the adapter patch lead. You're looking for a PC99-ALP. Look on eBay, I picked mine up for about £4.

Your dash controls will work after that.

Thanks, I've got the PC99-ALP, but it was found in my shed when I had another Alpine unit for my Alfa 2 years ago.

The mue works though, but nothing else.

Should I try another lead?

My Alpine works with dash controls. When I got it the box says PC99-X61, but the sticker on the adapter itself was PC99-X60. Together with the patch lead it works fine, just make sure you have plugged everything in correctly?

I looked at the modifry but was too expensive. All plugged in ok, think I might try another patch lead first and have also contacted the seller of the pc99 x61

I'm sure you've read this and looked at the pics:

Stereo advice, I want it all!

Silverinho seemed to have a selection of spare patch leads, might be worth speaking to him.
