Alpine Interface Fitting
 

I am finally fitting my stereo stuff this weekend and was wondering about fitting the kce-856b interface.

I saw a thread a few weeks back on wiring it in. I think that the chap ran a wire to the internal fuse box. I have had a good look for the thread but can't find it.

Does anyone have the link or can give any advice on fitting it?

The standard Honda loom already has a power lead on the ISO block so no need to run a power supply.

Most Alpine head units run their own fusebox so need for that either.

It's pretty much a case of connecting the interface, head unit and loom together.

Don't forget the pink wire goes to the telephone/interrupt socket on the interface which is your mute control.

It is a very easy job and shoudl take no more then 5 minutes.

I would advise fitting a separate power feed as Alpine advise. It serves a few purposes:

1. The HU draws a lot of current so could dim underload, this will stop that.
2. The loom is susceptible overload, reasons of safety
3. It individually fuses the HU.
4. Its very simple to do.

It really is your call but Alpine suggest it for a reason. The thought of the whole car going up due to a saved hour was too much for me to consider.

I don't mind running the wire if someone can tell me where in the fuse box to put it.

Or in light of that, what about the possibility of just pushing the yellows out of both ISO blocks from the loom and HU and just using a connection block between the two ????

theres a grommet (rubber bung) in the passenger footwell, near the bulkhead. You need to find this and cut a small hole in it. Feed the cable though that into the engine compartment.

Then fuse it and attach to the positive connection on the battery, this is then used to power the rear of the HU.

If you get totally confused and need a hand, I`m happy to talk you through it on Sat - but I go away on Sun so can't do it then.

Hate to sound stupid. But how do you connect the other functions? Eg volume ect
