Alternative fix for premature wearing of hood

Got a pair yesterday and fitted.
Just a thought I put mine on inside out, so the slightly rough hard wearing side was against the metal and the nice smooth inner will be against the soft top. Figured it might work better that way.

Anyone here still in doubt as to which bit of the roof architecture to fit these little beauties to; see FAQ item on the problem.
BTW, mikey k has used Lizardskins neoprene MTB FORK (rather than chainstay) protectors on his car and reckons that they do the job just as well and cost a couple of quid less too (I'm assuming they fasten by velcro too, but I aren't sure - maybe mikey will weigh in and clarify.)
