Got under the S today and greased my Clutch fork. Fairly simple job however I did have to grind off the nipple on the rod. Gave it a going over with various grades of sandpaper. Much better now clutch feels great again. A quick pointer to anyone wanting to do this job, when refitting the clutch for back to the pivot point make sure you push it back towards the rear of the car. I tried for a while to get it clip back in to the pivot until realising I was trying to push it in at the wrong angle. Well worth doing though only took about an hour in all.

Used big a cable tie when I did mine, and ground off the nipple with a dremel then used grinding paste to get a smooth shine back. Also worth getting ultra high temp grease or you will be doing it again!

I found the shaft of the rod (oooh err) fit's nicely into a drill chuck. Pack the socket with grinding paste and "whizz it" for 5 mins. Ball and socket both nice and shiny smooth, clean out socket and ball, grease, hey presto, lazy job done.

I used a 2.5mm welding rod with the flux knocked off. I actually finished cleaning the ball with fine grinding paste. Put it in a drill to make it easier then finished it off with autosol looked like chrome when I finished. I used some high temp high load grease from work called mo2 we use it in the crusher bearings at work so pretty sure it will stand up to the temp

Ok, this is the ball part, but the actual fork part is inside the tranny housing...

Yes the clutch fork is inside the tranny housing but sticks out it has a bowl formed into it on the outboard side which the ball sits in. The bowl appears to have a little hole in the middle and the ball wears and slowly creates a nipple as the ball has no contact where the hole is. The nipple required grinding off and the polish the ball up thus reducing friction between the two parts. Ensure to pack the bowl with grease too
