Hi Everyone,

Picking up my new S tomorrow. Been after one for a while but finally taken the plunge at the end of summer
Moonrock GT with black / red. Only a few hours to go. Can't wait
First job will be to take the top off. Hope the heater works well.
Is it tomorrow yet

Nigel

Good luck and welcome to the site!

Loads of help on here, but take a look at the FAQ - Sticky at the top of the forum.

We look forward to seeing it at the MK meet. I bet you really want to get into it can you.

I couldn't wait to see mine so i went to have a look at the dealer before it was put through the PDI.

Thanks,

Read through the FAQ already and looking forward to the MK meet later this month.
Got the stand and cover earlier this week. Purchased from ebay.

A quick question.

Do you need to unplug the soft top's heated rear screen when using the hardtop?

Is it tomorrow yet

It doesn't say in the manual and there is no mention in the removal/installation instruction booklet.

I assume, but maybe wrong, that the heater on the folding roof is automatically bypassed when you plug in the hardtops plug. It does state in the handbook that heated element on the soft top should not be used when roof is down.

You will find a socket behind the passenger seat where the heated rear window for the HT plugs in, just remember to un plug the HT before trying to lift off the roof or you will end up looking rather silly.

Aye, welcome indeed to the best combo!
The heater (once the car's warmed up) will burn fingers its that good! Mind the aircon coming on though (bad for MPG) - when you switch the heater position back to the windscreen it comes on automatically, I'm unsure if you can stop it though..

.....and removing the HT automatically allows the heated screen in the hood to work.
Similarly fitting the HT disables the heated screen in the hood automatically.

Bloddy clever these Japanese!
