Childsy, yes I have a decat and the bypass pipes are quite big ~42mm. Now I have had it mapped the noise is a bit different and not as poppy.

Quick question, if you guys decat are you putting the cat on for MOT or do you "leave it in the boot for them to fit for testing"? Or does it just pass?

It won't pass if it's fitted, if there is no cat there then legally they can't pass it. Either get it fitted before hand or pay them a bit more to pass it. (obviously this isn't legal but it does happen). I should also point out that last point doesn't work with all garages.
