Sounds like it's a bit of an art. Are they similar to the clips used in the front window sills? (I managed to break one of those last year)

Hmmm, yes, pop in to Honda and see just how much silly little clips like that are, and you will be grateful of your £10 set of tools, belive me.
However, a modified fork would most likely work!
