looks a good idea to mount a phone holder on - its only a black bit of metal with a bend in ?? may go to b+q and see if i can find some sort of bracket that will do the job

Not keen myself Tom, I don't like the clutter and for my own sat nav I think it would stick out to far.
I'm looking to get a mount that fits to the string bag pegs and can bend / fold away when not in use.

If you're going to invent one why not a mount that bolts to the lip of the dash just under or behind the vents for the radio door. The mount could then pop up above the centre of the console and it would not get in the way of your leg and would have an obvious route for cables.
