Default Audio issues (speakers)

I've been having intermittent problems with my radio turning off and on so I have decided to replace my stock radio with a pioneer hu. The problem I have now is that it still does it, I've noticed it does it more after a heavy downpour so have decided to check out the wiring. And this is what I've found.

There was no bracket attached to the speaker and the connector are rusty. Could I get new connectors or is it a case of replacing the speakers?

I would remove the rusted up screws and solder the connections directly.
Maybe also use some zip ties or similar so it wont rip apart those fragile cables going to the voice coil.

Yeah cutting off that terminal is probably what I would have done in the first place
Just glue or screw down something like this instead, cut down of course.
