I hope its going through insurance, you might be able to get a new headlight as the clips could be broken. Some git though

yeah, insurance. I think it will be quite expensive

headlight £700
bumper £370
Chin lip has no price listed on Lings
there is some damage to the wing, tiny little lip crease, bonnet scuff on edge

might be the right time to fit a funky bumper

What a bummer

Insurance might only cover you for a prefacelift bumper/lip?

i don't see how given they are all declared mods but anyway my insurance are not involved for obvious reasons

we'll see, it's all a little immaterial as anything they put on will prob come off for something with better cooling. the headlight is the big chunk

Unbelievable... bad news. I thought Physio's were supposed to reduce stress!!

I think a bumper with more cooling potential would be a good idea

It finally went to the body shop today

Honda still not found all the bits.. headlight is outstanding

Bumper, splitter, entire front end painted to blend the bumper and wing. The front panel is pushed in on the impact side too.

meanwhile my other 2 cars are up for renewal and I get stuffed because this claim ain't settled. ****ing insurance companies :grr:

well i saw the car last week ... it's been at the shop since late July, there was a nightmare delay with parts, especially the headlight which when removed was proper destroyed, being pushed back so hard all it's brackets cracked off the body. I was also away in the US for a bit so progress was glacial..

it's turned into quite a big job (pull front end, paint all front end, bumper, headlight etc) and in the end i thought while off the road it would be nice to tidy it up.

The car has had damage to the rear drivers quarter which was then painted whilst not 100% dry resulting in little pimples in the paint which are actually rust under the paint and look like a teenagers acne. The arches had also been rolled by Stevie Wonder at Arch Enemy so i decided to get these things sorted while it's off the road. The end result is almost a full paint job bar the rear bumper.

It's due back next week. I am very excited, I've missed driving the owd nutter and have a few things lined up to fit and try, new pads, new high temp brake fluid.. could it get on a noise happy track this year after all? maybe..

I've seen behind the rear bumper too, some surface corrosion to deal with which is a nice autumn project for me..

Yeah, it's the hidden damage requiring a tug that generally writes things off.

As you say, great opportunity to get it sorted - just don't make it too perfect as it seems to make things a numpty magnet.

I enjoyed it being scruffy for that very reason Nick but the wings had been painted poorly and when the badges were removed to blend to the bumper the paint came off meaning they needed to go on to both doors as part of the repair anyway

Having said that not seen the bill yet.. ahem
