I think it needs a BGW but I'm not sure that works for a man of my vintage

I did like the MX5 Owners club one at Japfest Donny

other car has a BMWChop.. it would feel a little like I was trying to clone it, then put the same plates and both and save on tax and insurance.

Ahem

I am impressed overall

Still no bill.. Nick would no doubt shudder at this man's priorities....

An ARB drop link fell apart on the school run so swapped that.. must do the other.. other than that the soft top plaggy window died even more so HT on.. MOT in a week..

the headlight alignment looks wonky post repair to me

We will see. I am attached to this car. So is my boy, nothing else will do on the school run so far

Headlamp alignment is a screwdriver through a hole in the inner wing and is quite easy once you've worked out where the bloody screw is and which way the 90-degree gear on it turns the unit.

ooops.. (thanks Nick)

MOT failed
-Bust rear droplink
-headlamp alignment (who knew?)
-didnt like my none orange wingdicators

Bizarrely i had replaced a broken rear droplink (as per thread), the other looked good at the time and survived a tug and a few days later it must have fallen apart
I had the part as i bought a pair, just hadnt got round to fitting the second one.. doh

headlight alignment was bloody miles out and it wasnt adjusting one side (new light) so i fiddled with the adjuster by removing the splash guard and got it working though no idea how. Matched em to the other car by sticking A4 to my fence and drawing lines on it, parked 7.5m away in both cases using a chunk of wood guide. hopefully that's ok for a bit lowered but tester said he would have adjusted them to spec if they'd worked so...

now a retest

other than that car is behaving with the new battery. I'm thinking of fitting an isolation switch and just shutting it down when not in use to cut the drain as it lives outside so isnt trickled

If someone over-adjusts them, the nut falls off the screw.

What's wrong with non-orange wingdicators? I fitted mine when the facelift occurred. Or has the paint fallen off the bulbs?

I think there are clear bulbs in there and I had dark wingdicators.. couldn't see orange bulbs at helfrauds so put oem back for the test . Ahem.

Ah - that'd be it.

For Max Tartiness you need to order the silver blubs that glow orange when resisting current. Or an LED equivalent, these days.

And passed. Heath Robinsons alignment fence works

it helps having another s2 to match to but at one point they were cheaper than the device they use. Probably.

now the search for new rear rubber. I will go AD08R to match the fronts. It had re050s, the old geo didnt help but hey ho.
