I've had EBC stuff do that before on the rears and also Ferrodo DS2500 - mine was caused by fooked calipers / caliper slide pins.

Maybe old pads / been used in something else / cooked on a track / parked up with handbrake on after a track session - who knows what dumb things people do

Yeah thats my assessment, until it happens again i'm assuming no issue. One caliper (issue side) had a very new looking piston and the seller did mention a caliper refurb but not which one

Fronts next.

So a little update which i'd prefer to do as an edit but hopefully i can tidy it in the future

A pair of spare Front calipers are in for a refurb from my 2001 car (to fit to this car). Both pistons seized so new required. Just for the paint job these guys are worth using http://www.brakecaliperspecialists.uk/ - i've had the full set on my 2001 car done and they still look like new and perform so much better than brakes on this car (which is worrying haha)

the paint is a bit patchy so i've been machine polishing it and wet sanding bits but there's a lot more to do

the mapping is an ongoing process, probably mentioned up there somewhere but basically involves

AJ setting me little acceleration tasks
me sending him the logs from the AEM while carrying these out
AJ adjusting the map
me uploading

repeating that a few times

the brakes failing and the belt failing all got in the way but the car was behaving then we did some WOT runs and it started playing up. That's where we are now. It stutters at 6500 rpm and I need to track down why so a bit of fiddling. I'm swapping the plugs as they are stock.

The car runs a lot better than it did a few weeks ago. Nowhere near as rich now with the new maps and wideband plugged in.

Plugs arrive tomorrow....

we're onto WOT mapping and have hit an issue

car runs fine on the dev map but on WOT runs the first was fine upto redline and since then issues

it stutters at 7k onwards, tried several different maps

swapped the plugs, no effect

one thing that did happen, the first time it did this the green key light flashed up

Sounds like simply bad wiring (I always do wonder with these aftermarket bodge-jobs that they aren't up to JIS/Honda-standards) or a bad ECU?

There's not much wiring per se, its mostly plug and play as far as the ECU goes, just hooking in the wideband sensor (one wire)

Anyway, swapped coilpacks from my std car and all is well. Wondee whether one of them was shorting causing electrickery gremlims? Who knows. It works which is all that matters.

Anyone recommend a coil pack source? Honda i guess?
