bad back / hip and the s
Ive got a bad back and hip at the moment (agony.. ) sitting 'in' the s is not to bad but getting in and out is trickier than i though - any tips or suggestions , or anyone else suffer in silence like me ?

opening the roof normally makes it easier if you are with someone else you can tell them to open and close it for you

i sometimes get a stiff back, and find if i leaver myself out the car half way; 1 foot out on ground with only heel touching the ground, pull myself (with back straight) onto the sill and then pull myself up and out holding onto the windscreen.
not exactly an easy way to get out, but saves bending the lower back... |
I get hip ache if I'm driving the S for more than 250 miles :(
Turning your heated seats on is a great way to keep your lower back muscles supple. I also find getting in/out with the roof down is much easier. Avoid any 'twisting' action of your body as this can send muscles into spasm if you have problems. |
yup found the roof / heated seats great this morning , ive got a problem at the moment and getting in the landrover is actually more painfull! good idea about keeping the back straight ,

Well I hope you don't think of getting bucketseats anytime soon

Heated seats are very comforting for a bad back
Also add some lumbar support - centre part of the seat isn't fixed, pull it forward and put some bubble wrap behind. |
