Buy a cheap ebay one for the piping and then a generic 'branded' one for the filter. Cost you about £80 instead of £300
The noise is what counts, forget everything else that you feel because it's the noise playing tricks on you

That video shows a turbo car and I doubt you would see any gains as the air temp won't be any cooler with a cai as it still goes through the intercooler.
On an na car you do benefit more but the 10% gain claims are not at peak power.
Bazz, did you see the curves from the tdi south day.

I bought a K&N FIPK kit soon after I got my s2k and the only difference performance wise would be when the VTEC kicks in, I understood that I would only gain 2hp or so total, but there's more than that around 6k rpm (butt dyno). Plus it sounds amazing!
As for that Australian video with the skyline, I'm pretty sure the ecu on the car is adjusting to the changes they were making, hence why the bhp levels were the same even without a filter. Or something else is restricting the engine.
Anyway I believe that making a lot of small improvements to a car (aside from CAI) will make a BIG difference. So for my car getting the FIPK was merely something ticked off the list. Ultimately what people do with their cars is up to them.

Just installed my FIPK. Took me around 2 hours in total.
Exceptionally easy to install. Instructions are a little hard to follow.
Havent driven her yet but it sounds nice, though the skunk2 drowns out any induction noise.
Will take her for a spin later

I've just ordered all the kit of the net to try it out
I like the idea of keeping it standard I've lost over
35k on my last 3 cars buying silly mods so trying
Not to go overboard with the S
But saying that I've done 2k on wheels and 2 set of tyres
ICE £500 radar finder £500 and the list goes on
