I see you've already ordered your replacement, but I had what I thought was a rattly cat/silencer which turned out to just being heat shields which the fixings had rusted away on and were rattling instead.

Arrived last week quicker than I expected and got it fitted today. Feels nicer to drive again now not feeling embarrassed all the time! The exhaust note is slightly different but I can't quite put my finger on it, and there's only a tiny bit of smell with windows opened when I floored it.

I thought the same thing at first but I had the garage take the heatshields off completely before I ordered and the noise was still there. I've kept the old cat just in case for MOT emissions and the rattle is clear.

I paid £247.50 from Tarmac Sportz including house gasket, bolts & shipping. They had to order from USA but it was pretty fast. Pricey compared to other options but I couldn't bear to put some cheapo cat on.

My cat is also rattling, so I'm thinking about getting a Berk HFC. I have a tanabe medallion, should I go for 70mm or 63.5mm?
