Do they look under the car? Just curious. Mine passes electronic and visual inspection (but I ain't in the UK).

It's military slang as noted. As early as 1942 the US Army was using it in training films. Who invented it and when? Who knows. Maybe Al Gore?

Don't worry about it slap a few full stops in and drop some of the commas. And I understood the post so it can't be too bad.
The Mot guy won't know if your setup is OEM or not, unless he's very S2000 savvy.
If it looks like a CAT and works like a CAT, then it's a CAT.
