Default Space saver

My son has just tried to use his spacesaver on his Mercedes to find that the bolts for his alloy wheels are too long for the steel wheel. Do I need special nuts for the Honda S2000?

AFAIK the standard bolts are fine for the S2000 spacesaver on an S2000

They're nuts.

Not the previous posters, the retainers on an S2000.

I understand that they are sufficiently 'hollow' in order to clamp a steel pressing against the hub and the facing profile is correctly-rounded. I carry a set of five, because the facing surfaces on my Mugen nuts are conical.

I presume M-B continues to use bolts to clamp the wheels to the hub. If they've not through-bored the hubs sufficiently (or the ABS ring is in the way) it's comical, not conical.

I used the standard nuts when I used a space-saver. Remember that the space-saver should only really go on a front wheel.

Snakecharmer most probably meant "the spacesaver on his Mercedes", as I find it highly unlikely that his son was born with a spacesaver.

But you never know, with petrolheads.

It’s clear enough

the s2000 has nuts, not bolts and wasnt designed by a German brummie so you’ll be fine

having said that i’ve never used one. My Panzervaggon has a compressor and gunk which i’ve never used. Had a slow puncture twice on that phukka

I've got that on both nearside wheels on the Leg End, strangely.

I presume it's related to the powder coating a couple of years back.
