Default That bloody annoying beep when door is open

One if not the most annoying features about the S2000 is the annoying beeping when you open the door with the key in the ignition, I know some people will just say "just take the keys or close the door" but for me it does my head in so tonight I decided to get rid of it and it took 2 mins.

Here is the instructions:

Remove the lower steering column cover by removing the 3 screws from below.
On the key barrel there are 2 green connectors - simply unplug the lower one with the 2 wires.

Job done.

I agree, and mine is quiet, but I would like it to beep when my lights are left on ... I think they are supposed to do that anyway so perhaps a previous owner took it off on mine? Anyhow I would like that back on the car if it was there before, anyone know how ?

Nice how to Robin!

Turning the switch to the ‘‘ ’’
position turns on the headlights. If
you leave the lights on with the key
removed from the ignition switch,
you will hear a reminder buzzer
when you open the driver’s door.
Not found any other options for the lights alarm. It's a constant tone.

Only works if you open a door. Parked on Lovers Lane and you turn the engine off and leave the lights on you get no warning. But if you're on Lovers Lane in a S2000 and remaining in the car you're probably alone...
