If I understand your description correctly then I might be able to answer the how part. Porsche provide as an optional extra a roof mounting system which clips on the front screen and the rear posts through an arch on either side. You then simply install a roof rack to these arches. Very ingenious and very expensive. The car will look similar to a targa model.

Hmmm.... It appears that the search function is not operating right today...

Here is some information and pictures of the Fapa luggage rack that I bought and used in August of this year!

I was looking for some photos of the S2000 at SM2 with the luggage rack. I didn't find any, but found these:

I would suggest contacting Moss Europe http://www.mosseurope.co.uk. Apart from being classic car specialists, they have a large range of accesories for the MGF and MX-5. I expect that they will be able to advise on different methods of fixings and sizes. The Moss range can be ordered through Halfords, or they can deliver direct.

Welcome to the forum.

If you hold on some one will help with the information you require. At the Supermeet 2 one owner had a boot rack, so I know you can get them.

Dave

Sorry to be late in responding to this post but I have been in Florida for the last three weeks and have only just read it.

It was my S2k at Supermeet 2 which had the bootrack. It is a Classic Carrier - see the thread which I posted at the time of fitting.

Hope this is of use

Default Boot Luggage Rack

I am going to buy one of these things for an upcoming trip to Europe camping, but have seen various postings. I'd like opinions on these 2 and any experience using either:

http://www.roofbox.co.uk/

Which one should it be - the 201, 220 or 230

And

http://www.classic-carriers.nl/english/car...onda_s2000.html

This one looks smaller?

Which is best do you think?

Cheers

I ordered one from classic carriers last year and they were v good, this one is also a Fapa (not v obvious from the web site!). Can't find which number it is, mind you, I've just moved house and can't find my pants so unfortunately my luggage rack paperwork is way down the list of priorities!! Dead easy to fit once you've fiddled about with the allen keys, oh, a good tip, put a towel over your boot when you are doing this, nasty slips could be costly!
If I were you I'd ask around to see if anybody can lend you their rack, you'll only use it once in a blue moon although when you do it's pretty invaluable. You're welcome to borrow mine but I think the cost in Optimax getting here and back (twice!) would probably pay for most of a new one!

I used to have one of the roof-box ones, and had no problems with it at all, managed to fit the luggage or 2 females in it for a week away, and believe me, that was not a small amount. As for the second one, I have been considering buying a boot rack from ebay, of an MG or Mazda and just moding it, but I expect it depends on your pocket. You wernt thinking of using the roofbox on the S were you??

Christ how ugly does the second one look AE??!! orid straps over the boot! The first one looks quite small too.

We were quite lucky cause when we bought the S we still had our luggage rack from the MGF. It fits perfectly with a small adjustment to its size (sliding clips)

Its bigger than both of those and comes in black. Its made by Moss and costs about
