Brake upgrade options
#11
AP racing CP9200 calipers with AP racing 330x28mm and APF404 pads, nearly 2kg of weight lost per side. Massive improvement. Obviously increased braking performance but better heat management.
Recently fitted my new rear vented disc brake kit, results are promising thus far. Yet to put them to test on track though.

How did you do heat wise? Using it to the full I saw temps rise pretty quickly

I would suggest that you start with adding ducting - both front and rear and switch to dedicated track pads. You'll be surprised how far that can take you on the track and the investment is small. Remember that as soon as you go with a BBK in front, the pool of wheels that fit without spacers shrinks a lot so stay with the stock rotors if they fit your needs.
That said, if you decide you want to track it regularly, I think you'll find that the stock rotors just don't have enough thermal capacity and you'll need to upgrade. I'm running the SBG track package in front (larger rotors and Wilwood calipers) and URGE rear vented rotors with stock calipers. I'm NA but at altitude which negatively affects cooling. This last weekend I ran this setup using Raybestos ST43 pads and was very happy with it (I had to relearn braking points as I was able to brake later and harder. I improved my PB by nearly 2 seconds). The SBG kit with AP calipers is even nicer, but was outside my budget.
If you do decide to go the upgrade route, make sure you take into account how the front/rear bias will be affected. I see a lot of people ignoring this and are landing up with longer stopping distances. I put this together to help.

All in good time gentlemen, trying to juggle this, bike rebuild and campervan work aswell as shift work. They won't be website based.
Just finalising instructions for the kit as there are one or two alterations required.
