Default Broke my gearbox?

these two vids are the car jacked up and me spinning one rear wheel (slowly).. in the vid from under the box i do it with my foot. it sounds like my gearbox has a bag of nails in there

You sure it's geabox and not clutch? If it's box, input shaft area or main box area??

You can split the input shaft bit from the box whilst the box is on the car - just drop the prop out and unbolt the secondary input shaft housing bit - need to unbolt the shifter housing from inside but i don't think any of it is rocket science.

I guess if you spin the back wheels with it in neutral and it makes the noise it's either the secondary shaft or output shaft, then if you start the car in neutral and it makes the noise it's either the clutch or main shaft... then if you start the car with the clutch depressed and it still makes the noise it's clutch/release bearing? 100% sure it's not the diff?

so i drained the diff.. bah..

magnetic diff plug.. not so healthy

then the box.. bah too!

lots of filings in the gearbox oil too (the sparkly bits)

anyone recommend diff rebuild or am i better off buying used?

box i have a suspicion it's that bearing were the prop joins, just by the sound location, i could be wrong. is it easy to get a look at that?

Grant - no noise in neutral but spinning the rear wheel can generate a clunk when the prop moves (not before)
in gear and running the noise is bad and from both ends

it's proper broke
