Bumper Upgrade
I've been offered a pretty much direct swap for my bumper for the newer bumper, i wouldnt mind upgrading as i do like the newer lip, but is it a straight forward swap?
the newer ones has holes where the washer jets go and a sllight dent, is the bumper easy to patch up? obviously it would be going to a sprayers to be fixed, fitted and sprayed.

I've been offered the same. My bodyshop bloke has said he can fill the holes with no problems.
I've read somewhere that there are a couple of modifications you have to do to the car before the newer one will fit snugly.

Sorry Luke, I meant I don't recall any mention of difficulty or modification to fit the new front or rear bumpers. I could be wrong but I think they bolt straight on as a direct replacement.

are the lights not slightly different in shape like on most facelift hondas (ATR, EK&EP civic for example) which means the wings are a slightly different shape and the bumper as well?

I found this post, its a little unclear as to whether any fabrication is required.

The body shop that did mine (they sprayed them too you see) didn't report any problems with them, and they would have told me (and charged me). I guess body shop people know how to fit these things though as they do it on a daily basis.

Only a minor detail but the instructions for the early bumpers talk about 9 M6 hex bolts underneath that hold the bumper to the undertray etc.
When I took off my bumper I found only 6 of the connections were M6 bolts, the centre 3 are now the push in plastic trim type connectors - So the holes will be slightly different.
