Default Buying Advice - Is this a worth it?

Hi all,

Been on this site for a while now & been looking to purchase an S2K for about 4-5 months now, but unfortunately not a great deal come up that really takes my fancy so far (+ is in budget), however things may have changed.

Basically i'm looking for some opinions as to whether the car in question seems a good buy, what to look out for & any additional help.

Ok so the car is as follows:

'03 GT in Black with the Black/Red Leather.

59,000

FHSH - 11k, 21k, 33k, 44k & 56k

1 Owner from new

I know from the garage (not honda) so far that the car came a company director or something like that (not sure of exact termanology), he's sprayed the front bumper (stone chips), back bumper (slight scuff) & refurbed the alloys. I've seen pics on the site of the car before and cant visually see any of what he's talking about, but hey he says it needed it cos he only sells tip top condition cars (yeah yeah i thought, but honestly couldnt see jack on the before pics).

The car comes with no tax (garage), i believe 1 months warrantee & he does want to charge extra for the hardtop.

The cost is

Yep my only point would be the miles.

It means that with average miles, in 4 years time it will have 100k and not be easy to sell.

Might be more out there for the money.

Lloyd Six - TBH that's kinda what i had in my mind to be honest.

Nickrg3 & Biffa - So its not followed the servicing guide then, good spotting. I suppose this is an impossible question to answer, but whats would be your thoughts on tha? Lazy uncaring owner = not looked after properly?

MB - The mileage thats really niggling away at me. This is guna be my first big buy, that ideally i would want to keep for a good few years & hopefully not lose too much money on. but i would want to use it for my everyday car as well. Therefore unless i could get it for good money initially to justify the miles, i'm guna los arent i?

Responses & More comments always welcome

As you may already know, the "GT" bit means that it was sold at new by Honda UK with the hardtop and stand as part of the deal. Mainly a marketing wheeze by Honda but it IS relevant in that some insurers have a separate vehicle type for the S2000 GT compared to the roadster.

You either need to price it as if it was a roadster, if he wants to sell the HT separately, or explain to him that the price should reflect the package if he's selling it as a GT.

Not really *missed* a service, just done at every 11/12k miles eventually meaning it'll look out of step. What you need to find out is if the service done at 56k miles was the 44k schedule or the 54k schedule. The 54k is a biggie, great if that's just been done, not so if that's the one that's due.

Price - Up to you, but a month or two back I bought a black with red/black in v good condition, full history etc. at
