..... so plan of attack is

clean off the pad residue , put standard pads back in , tighten hub bolt .

Ill see if I can get this done later and report back

Hub nut, not bolt. You'll need to unstake the hubnut (its supposed to be replaced if you retorque it but it should be alright to demonstrate that the nub nuts were an issue) and you'll need a big torque wrench to get the correct torque. I'd also recommend that you work a bit of grease onto the drive shaft splines too at the same time.

it won't be pad residue making the noise you've got. It takes a reasonable amount of use for pad residue to cause the discs to wear unevenly. Residue will give you judder, but not the noise issue in normal driving that the hub nut issue will.

If you do a search on here for hub nuts you'll find the info you need. New nuts are around £10 each.

..... right I've swopped pads over , cleaned discs ... and as suspected I didn't have the right tools for the hub nut . I will however get the boys at the garage to do that while the tyres are being swopped over to the new wheels .

What torque should I do them too?

Another thing I noticed !

I whipped the front wheels off as well just to visually check if anything was catching with the front AP set up .....

removed the anti rattle pad shim thing and noticed a couple of rubbing marks on it !

As of or yet I haven't been able to go out with a passenger to 100% verify if the noise is coming from the front or rear .... I thought it sounded like the rear but while driving it's hard to be sure .

Ive spoken to Rayland motorsport, who supplied the AP kit and said you don't actually have to run the anti rattle shims , they add them to road going kits they do . So I've bent them a tad to try and get a few more mm clearance and see how it goes .

Right been out ......

no more noises !!

But because I made 2 adjustments ( old pads and bending of the anti rattle shim ) I'm not sure which one was the culprit!! Doh

i guess ill leave it alone alone for a bit .... maybe fit some new standard rear pads and then up grade the whole rear brake set up once it becomes available.

Appreciate everyones input on this

Glad you got it sorted, sort of. Unfortunately this is a side effect of making lots of changes at the same time without actually driving it much.

It makes the systematic identification of issues much harder to isolate.

Btw, Did you want the supra PCV valve as I found it?

I dont run any shims on my pads at all, partly because i left them off by accident and then lost them... doh! Never had any issues though and that was 2 years ago.
