Default Caliper issue/handbrake seized

Hi all

I
Currently on my euro trip in mid France. 2 dYs ago whilst in Switzerland my handbrake started to drag and I nipped into a Subaru specialist and he told me the handbrake mechanism on both rear calipers had seized. He has disconnected the handbrake and all seems well,I've done 2k miles now with no handbrake so it can wait until I get home to sort out. Do i need to purchase both rear calipers or can the handbrake mechanism on each side be purchased separately? As mentioned I will sort it out when I'm home but wanted to order up the parts now to sort it asap. On a positive note I did the grand prix circuit in Monaco yesterday in the s!
Thanks fir your help

Hang on if the handbrake was disconnected and the problem went away it just needs the handbrake mechanism in the caliper cleaning, not the whole caliper replacing!

It's just the mechanical linkage. Strip, clean, grease, refit.

Probably the cams/pins dragging.

You ought to fit a new seal kit.

Lol, some people are experts at wasting their money...

Sure run out and spend 600 quid on new calipers while you can mostlikely fix it with a bit of cleaner/grease and maybe a few quid worth of new parts.

Calipers are just big lumps of cast steel, not a lot can go wrong with that and all of the bits inside them can be replaced seperately so unless someone steals them from underneath your car I'll never see the need to buy complete new ones!
