I have the an OEM cover, but because there were no straps and only elasticated corners as soon as the wind became strongish it use to either billow and buffet the paintwork, or would come off and fall on the ground. This mean't I had to wash it and hang it out to dry, making sure it was free from grit and dirt before putting it back on. It now sits in the garage. It's also not waterproof

Designed for garage use only then.

Hmmm, sadly that will be no good for me then. Be interested to see the Storm Force as mentioned, or a cover from the other suppliers. Hopefully at least one will have the OEM fit.

Here are a few pics of the Storm Force. I didn't pack it away to neatly last time I used it so you see it rough and ready
It was used in the winter and held it's own as you would expect. The under car straps help in this area so I doubt you'd have any issues.
With regards to the scratching there isn't any lateral movement of the sheet so I wouldn't expect this to be a problem on the paint work as long as you keep it clean of course. It's good quality breathable sheeting that does let air pass underneath which will help keep the car dry although the manufacturer does say check it regularly to avoid any potential moisture build up.

Hammy, appreciate you posting those photos, it does appear to be a good fit. I'm not too concerned on the movement of the cover, as the car would always be clean and waxed before it went on. (I have experience of this with my bikes, as long as they go in clean the paint is normally treated very well).
Is that a generic cover, or a made to fit?

Don't think you would be too interested in these now if you are looking for outdoor covers, but if anyone else is interested, then this a Sahara in door garage cover from Cover Zone
It is less than £70 from these people:-

Seems pretty good quality and a very tight fit! It has underbody straps to hold it down. If you have a spoiler this will not fit!
