Default Car making weird noise (vid)

S2000 started making a weird noise this weekend.
at first I thought it was the famous TCT but now im not so sure
its making more of a knocking noise, I got a quick vid of it to show y'all
I gave her a service this weekend after sitting around for a couple months and the oil was low so not sure if that has any effect
let me know what you think
Thanks

edit: Car feels slightly down on power, it might just be because I'm too scared to thrash it while this noise is present. only took it round the block but it still drives fine just a bad knocking noise.
Not driving it at the mo just in case its doing damage. noise can be heard most on acceleration

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that sounds like early stages of rod knock to me.

Maybe lucky and get away with some new pin journal bearings. You won't know until you pull the sump and inspect.

I am handy with a spanner but this is a bit too much for me, any recommendations in the surrey area?

As said, until inspected you don't know.

A good indicator of damage or to see how far gone it is, pull the VTEC solenoid off and inspect the filter gauze it's only held in by 3 10mm bolts, if any metal parts have been floating around in the engine, 99% of the time it ends up in there.

Unfortunately, I think Tom is right on the money - I can't think of anything else it would be either. Low oil would do it - I think the MY2001 still had the old design of oil squirters that get stuck open causing low pressure at low revs especially if you put a lower viscosity oil in it than it had before.

Surrey area = TGM Sport in Fleet- if the bearing hasn't spun they'll be the ones who could save it. Don't drive it and get it on a trailer/flatbed - although as it's the race season and TGM will be pretty busy so no rush in getting it to them.

One step at a time - get it inspected and make your choice - the internets can be wrong you know !

Yep as others have said above, definitely rod knock/spun bearing.
Low oil level in itself is not a major issue, unless it is critically low to affect oil pressure in corners etc.
Sorry mate, new engine time. Repairing the crank seldom works, unless it is caught very early and the person doing the job knows exactly what he is doing.

So what would be the main cause of this happening to the engine.

Thanks.
