Cat back exhaust too loud

Cat back exhaust too loud
Hi,
recently purchased an S2000 and it has a custom cat back exhaust installed. While it looks good it is far too loud for my liking (and possibly my neighbours as I leave for work in the mornings).
What is going to be my best option to solve my problem? Is it worth getting a silencer fitted to the exhaust or will it still emit a fair amount of noise due to the back box sizes and the resonance that comes from these?
Am I better trying to sell said exhaust and buy something that may be more suitable?
Any help or comments would be appreciated.
Cheers

I don't think from the pictures that you could add a silencer insert to the rear pipes as they look to roll inward? I may be wrong.
I would say as posted above that you may be better off with a quieter after market exhaust, a standard one or one like mine with the exhaust modification done. Sounds great under an enthusiastic right foot but doesn't annoy the neighbours.

Where are you based Bigchief? When I sold my last S I put it back to standard, and sold my HKS to another owner, whom I met and we swapped his standard + cash for my HKS. You could do the same? I would be interested if you are close (I have a standard exhaust on a MY03 with 80k miles)...

I'll have a standard facelifted exhaust with UK exhaust mod for cheap very soon - nice note, only changing because I'm turbo and it doesn't flow enough. I'll be putting it on for sale section shortly.

I'm based not far from Glasgow so not sure if any of the exhausts being offered are close by. Definitely interested though.
I got in touch with a custom exhaust shop and they advised they could fit a silencer on the single pipe section but he couldn't guarantee it would significantly quieten the exhaust. Not sure if I should give this a go or just replace it.

Best and cheapest option as pointed out is to go back to the original exhaust, if you were to do a swap plus cash that would pay for a CAT if you want to reinstate that as well.
The original exhausts are stainless steel so its rare to find a bad one.
Bodging on a box would inevitably be a lot more expensive that putting an original one on.
The one on eBay is just what you want, unfortunately its the wrong Cannock!
