Centre consul refurb

Next on the list is a centre consul refurb. After the great job RobinA3 did on my steering wheel I've now asked him to do the arm rest and gear lever gaiter to match.

the rest looks OK apart from the silver panel that surrounds the gaiter and the roof/hazard switches. Anyone done anything with these / I'm thinking if it is an easy job to remove them and spray them then that might work. You can see from photo below how scuffed they are.

- do they separate from the main part of the consul easily ?
- any suggestion on what paint spray to use ? would standard automotive paint work OK, maybe with a coat of lacquer on top.?

Yes it separates from the console Andy and yes, not too hard to paint with a decent primer, paint and lacquer, or you could wrap it :)

I wrapped mine - looks great! Will get a pic later!

Cheers Paul. Did you DIY it ? Easy to do ?

Am also having trouble working out how to disconnect the flashing immobiliser light. Could someone let me know how to do it before I break it. Doesn't seem to want to twist out or pop off, and I can't see a connector block anywhere.

I did DIY and yes, it was easy to do!
The immobiliser light - you need to spread the bottom of the black bracket, so the LED light pushes in and comes out of the bottom.

Going to go with the prime/paint/lacquer option. already got everything off.

Mine is going to look very much like yours. Looks like you have a RobinA3 gaiter and arm rest there.

will post some pics when done.

I removed mine and wrapped it with vinyl.

I'll snap a picture later
