I'd be VERY dubious of a resprayed car.

You're right about the 14K offer though. Big slap in the face.

Stick it on Pistonheads and wait it out. Someone will see it and love it(eventually) and you'll be fine. Loads more black ones than yellow out there too so you'll find one pretty sharpish I recon.

Also worth a try is a straight swap from someone like www.s2k-4u.co.uk. Although I presume you'll have to compromise as I'm sure he'll tell you the yellow one will be harder to sell on than a black one...

which it will be:P

I knew when i bought the car that the colour was not too everyones taste, but thats one of the reasons i like it so much as it's that bit more individual. The black one i was looking at though just looked somehow "meaner" in that colour.Definitely going to forget about the respray as i agree with what you're all saying,it was just a thought!I'll just keep the yellow peril for a year then trade it for a black 04+

Just to add, a FULL after market respray will never be the same as a factory original colour. So even if you could convince a potential buyer that your reasons for doing it are not underhand, he/she may find imperfections which would put them off...

In the factory cars are sprayed without the interior, engine, hood, blah blah blah... to do a

Why not advertise on here for a swap but in the other person's favour? If you were considering spending

I'd hang on to the yellow. From experience, I can tell you that trying to keep a black looking good on Scottish roads is no fun.

It can go from this ...

to this ...

in no time ...

It's ok lads i've already decided both the colour change is a definite no-no,and after cleaning the car the other day i've decided i prefer the yellow again.I've always been a bit indecisive!(wish i could figure out why it always looks a different colour than it actually is when i take photos of the bloody thing though!!!)Oh,and on the subject of paint i had some stonechips and a couple of scratches repaired the other day,the lad did a phenomenal job of it,i wish i'd taken before and after pics.Especially when he said the indy yellow was the toughest colour he'd ever had to match.Incredibly impressive!

If I was to be honest mate, I think your yellow looks the nuts. Its good to be a little 'different'. If I had bigger balls I would have gone for the yellow (couldn't find one for dust at the time though )
