We had a set of keys stolen for our Polo.
I just got a new key cut and the transponder/chip in the keys changed by the dealer.
Cost about £60 when all was said and done.
Only pain was I couldn't get a new alarm remote as Conlog who made them went out of business.
Plenty Honda keyfobs on fleabay and pretty cheap.

Ok I'll do that then. But.
The only problem -as mentioned by the dealer- is the possibility that the ECU has been reprogrammed previously and as a consequence they would charge me the full cost only to find out it was for nothing, once it's done. I don't really understand the concept. Can someone explain? Is there a limited number of reprogramming runs per immobilizer/ECU? Or was he reffering to a limited number of reprogramming runs on the master key (which I still have)? Can't a key be reprogrammed more than once?
