I got a letter this morning stating that my local dealer at Chatsworth Honda Burton-on-Trent has closed !

I now have to journey to sunny Chatsworth Derby...
Does anyone else here with an S2000 use them ?

Honda europe has lost 285 million last year! I have seen 3 - 4 dealers closed in london in the last 6 months. It looks like trouble times for Honda.

And yet they are about to open a new showcase delaership in Chiswick. It should be open by end of August. It is apparently going to be a model for their future dealerships.

You can buy everything Honda at it - Engines, cars, bikes, lawnmowers, etc.

The Honda dealership in Stafford has gone bust.
The employees were told last week they have 4 weeks until closure.

Is that the Hartwell dealership ? Their General Manager runs a Y reg S2000 - its the one I test drove......

Chatsworth have also closed the dealership in Mansfield, they have two garages in
Nottingham, not be long before they close one.

Yes it is the Hartwell dealership.
How did they treat you, they were previously a Rover dealership with a poor name in the town, so they tried the Honda route.
Even bigger disaster as people continued to use the Cannock or Stoke dealers as they are more established and have a better reputation.
It's a shame but thats business.

yeah, I was thinking of using one of the Nottingham ones.
I originally was demo-ed a second hand Black/Red s2k at Chatsworth in Lenton Lane, Nottingham. It was being sold by someone who worked there. He sold it with 4k on the clock and I just missed out on the sale!
It was this car that made me chose a Black/Red combination.

Hopefully It won't be too much trouble to change my dealer over to Chatsworth, Lenton Lane or Chatsworth Derby..

Hartwell weren't particularly good - it took a lot of persuasion from Honda UK for their General Manager to give up his company S2000 overnight ! I'm actually based in Telford and therefore my local dealer is JT Hughes..... not got much confidence in them either.

Who would people recommend around the West Midlands then ? My Dad had a Civic VTi a few years back from Stuart Graham in Nantwich.... they were pretty good.

I bought my S2000 from Holdcroft Honda in Cobridge. The buying experience was fine, I would not like them to perform anything too technical on the car though (seatbelt recall etc, I had it booked in but decided to cancel).
I bought my CRV from Brindley Honda in Cannock, they were brilliant, I cant fault them. They also sell a lot of S2000's so I am going to go there for services etc. Every time I visit or go past, they seem to have at least one around.
At the end of the day, the more they work on, the better they will be (thats my theory anyway).
Tonky has recommended Brindley also, I believe.
