Chris Knott's Loss - Admiral's gain
Got my insurance renewals from Chris Knott yesterday. been a customer for a few years and been very happy with the service. However, the increase was massive this year - 25-30%
S2000 - £330 to £437
ATR - £330 to £417
ITR - £330 - £437.
So I had a look at Admiral multicar (was a customer years ago). For the same setup - protected NCB, £350 excess etc I got the following...
S2000 - £358
ATR £255
ITR - £303.
So all in for just a whisker over £900 - not bad for a well known insurance company. Haven't bothered looking elsewhere, I doubt I'll get cheaper.

Admiral are well know for their 'new policy' discounts .... expect a 30% increase when the policy comes up for renewal next year.
For years I swapped between Admiral and Elephant (same company) for this reason.

CK said that they have seen increases of 25% across the board, and couldn't match the prices from Admiral.
I'll have saved around £90 on what I paid last year.

I would love to have the confidence to flit between admiral and flux. Was some what put off last year when I fitted the Mugen stuff.... "just to let you know about these mods...." "a cold air intake".... " errrr is that a bodykit?" "cancellations department please"!

when insurance is their business, they should know their job. i can understand terms like blueprinting, or cryogenics, but the usual performance tweaks has no excuse.
i'm getting fussy in my old age - i think im going to start complaining about inept insurance people when declaring mods.
similar experience with CK - they arent anywhere competitive for the S2000. infact, since i was under 30, they refused quote/renewal (i forget which) as they couldnt find anyone to insure me. i think im with sky now...

I'm currently on my second year with an Admiral multicar policy (for the S and a Seat Leon) and both years the premium for the S with other insurers has been the same or more than Admiral for both cars.
