Default Cleaning hood drains

Does anyone know if the drains with the brushes on that are more visible with the roof off need clearing even if you have a hardtop fitted?.

Im asking as I've noticed this area which looks like water could still drain into that area?.

If in doubt whip off the h/t and check them out for cleanliness, better safe than sorry?

I would pour warm water in from the top, the water drains out from hoses? that exit in the rear wheel arch, never tried to clean from the bottom up.

If you clean from bottom up you risk dislodging the drains - always clean from the top down.
