Today I went to Daytona Autos to get a few bits sorted on my car.
Engine, gearbox & diff oil, front dics & pads, brake fluid change and swap out my rattly old catalytic converter for new (second hand) one, and a new sensor. Ended up doing new spark plugs as well.
Ray, Mike, Lee & Rory all got stuck in, as did I, and cracked on with all the planned jobs, the only unresolved issue was the sensor on the cat, because I bought the wrong one!
Couple of little extra jobs done at the same time, Ray did a load of waxoil-ing on the underside, in the high risk areas, he fiddled with clutch actuator bits, they were very dry and made the clutch feel heavy and notchy, it now feels lighter and smooth in its operation. Cleaning up the callipers, carriers & pins. We also got the endoscope in to the cylinders, all in great condition internally, no build up on the valves - all very good.
There was some good banter and a great atmosphere, a brilliant way to get involved with looking after your own car, so much better than faffing around on axle stands of the drive.
Great to meet all of you guys, and after more than 10 years on the forum to meet Cheshire Carper too!
I'd highly recommend going there if you have some bits you want to do to you car - well worth the 2 hours driving each way for me!
Thanks guys - much appreciated....

Forgot to add, I took the long way home via some fun roads.
The car is running brilliantly, and the new tyres (yesterday's job) are nice and sticky!

Nice to meet you Dan, Love your car mate the serious gravel rash on the front belies the fact fact that it is a well looked after car and exceptionally good on the underside, glad you enjoyed your day and Lee is still wondering why you keep your car in the loft

It's used, abused & looked after. Wouldn't take too much effort to be mint (paint & new roof) but then the stone chips would come again anyway! I like to think it's an honest car.
I keep it in the loft for insurance purposes - doesn't everyone?
Thanks again for all your help
