Default 2017 spruce up for the old girl

Seeing as it's got another year with me .. it's time to get some work done. So what's the current reccomendation on stuff?

My view is that an OEM Honda clutch kit is still the best - anyone got a better idea? Not planning on changing the flywheel.

Any recent reviews of Jack Smiths vs any other more local to SouthEast options?

Anyone used Diamond Wheels in Letchworth for a powdercoat refurb on their alloys?

Perfect thanks - will get them booked in with Diamond as i'm sick of looking at flaking black rims. They've lasted 6 years which is pretty decent considering it has lived outside for most of that.

Unless yours is boosted, I would stick to OEM.

Might be worthwhile getting your flywheel skimmed whilst you're at it.

It's not and never will be. OEM it is - anyone found a full kit with both bearings for less than £350?

OEM definitely and a good quality tub of hi-temp grease, unbelievable difference once its all in. Done mine very recently, just in time for some british summertime !

After taking it out for a run to work and back last week, I am reminded how much i do like driving the damned thing so .... slowly a list of jobs is coming together.

1. Remove rear bumper and tiger seal the plate recess to it - sick of it moving around on Hondas ever deteriorating bracketry and i doubt there's much left behind there to use.
2. Remove the rear arch stone guards and reapply the arch stone guard sealant ( still rust free).
3. Find a source for the outer drivers side weatherstrip which has rotted out - again. Si - can you get me a price on one of these for the drivers door? Honda Part No.: 72410-S2A-023 is the part number. I think they're about 85 quid (thieves).
4. Replace the dead crossovers in the dooors that have been cutting out at higher volumes - done. Ahhh i'd forgotten just how good the stereo is in this ( an ongoing thanks as ever to LoveGroova and the imprint runs)
5. New soft top - cannot put this off any longer, it's as tatty as feck.
6. Wheel refurb - booked in with DiamondWheels - going for a smoked gold or maybe just back to Silver.
7. Front end blow over to remove the stone chips on the wings and bonnet - undecided on this ... something about showing it's age / patina that i like.
8. Source some aftermarket rear lights ( heresy i know ) but the originals are tired and I refuse point blank to pay Hondas replacement prices and i'm not lining the pockets of eBay scammers for them. S2000 Second generation 04-09 Convertible 2D LED Tail Rear Light Black for HONDA | eBay I quite like this and if i can't clean up the existing ones and get all the mould out of them then these will do just fine.
9. Repaint all the calipers and carriers in silver - to be honest, the original carriers are awful and just need replacing - refurbished parts come in the right colour and are a doddle to fit.

Having taken mine out of hibernation it turns out I quite like driving mine too - it's good to see you've not been able to part with yours
I have a very similar list and I think for convenience sake I'll head over to Monsoon and get one of their Mohair hoods fitted but in the meantime I bought one of the half-covers from uk custom covers HONDA S2000 SOFT TOP ROOF HOOD HALF COVER 134 eBay now I can't see the tatty roof when it's parked up so it's no longer a problem.

+1 for the OEM clutch kit, mine is still rattle free and working as intended but I did also go for an RPC flywheel at the same time - I also got the pilot bearing while I was at it and that doesn't come as part of the kit

I'm ignoring the repainting necessary from damage received to the front bumper whilst parked up and putting it down to "patina" too
