Cooling fans & AC not working.
Hi guys,
Cars had its back end up in the air for the last few weeks in the shop while having the rear arches and sills done. Got it back yesterday and today noticed that the mishimoto fans aren't coming on when the AC switch is selected on. Also in traffic they didn't come on on their own either.
What do we think this could be? Bad switch, clutch, fuse etc? Or could it be that it's been at an awkward angle for a while and got an air pocket?
Ta!

AC switch should make them operate. Easier way to test is to remove the fan switch connector and short a wire across the two pins with the ignition on. The fans will come on and if they don't then like you said you've got a fuse or relay issue. Have to be honest thou you will find that you could blow more breeze than what those mishimoto fans output. They are dire

Right, got the fans to work (they came on at about 98 degrees celcius) but still no joy on the AC. I've switched relayed around and swapped with the horn relay etc, checked the fuses and nothing worked so I'll have to go get a new lot of fuses and relays tomorrow just to make sure.

For AC fan signal you need AC button on (compressor), fan blower on 1 (or more).
If running AEM ECU you need to switch AC on under fan setting.

Thanks Jim,
The car is standard and both fans kick in when the coolant reaches temperature. When AC is selected on there appears to be no signal, which does sound like a relay/fuse fault in the AC system.

Not sure, Mark. There was no audible click from the engine bay when pressing the switch in the cabin on or off.
Jim - will do. As with most things like this, I now have to bugger off for a month (training for a new job etc). Either way I'll report the outcome so as not to leave another open thread on here with no solution.
