Default Correct tyre sizes for new wheels

I'm in the process of ordering new wheels they are S2000 fitment from evasive i won't say what as its a suprise but its not the rpf1 like my original plan. i think the offsets will work but its possible they are on the limit.

the offsets and wheel widths are 2 17x8 et45 at the rear and 2 17x7.5 et42 at the front

i'm fairly certain the correct tyre size for the rear will be 245/40/17 but i'm not so sure about the fronts.

i was going to put 225/45/17 on the front, but reading the wheel guide i'm not so sure; as it says not to go lower than +43 at the front, and if i read it right only a 205 tyre at the front. this seems very narrow,

so the question is will would the 225/45/17 fit or would a need 215/45/17 or qill it need to be even smaller.

i've not lowered the car and its on stock suspension so should i get away with it, or if i fit 225 at the front will i need to roll my arches?

thanks in advance, i know these questions come up all the time and you lot must be sick of them.

Stick to OEM sizes 215/45/17 and 245/40/17 - should be fine

Those wheels your looking at are quite thin aren't they! I guess you would just go with the OEM size tyres. Personally I would find some wider wheels 8.5" front and 9-9.5" rear.

That's all IMO, if I was buying wheels I'd wantaspot on fit and wider tires.

they are same size a sthe rotas that others run, and they are still bigger than stock wheels i have at the moment, been looking for ages and not found anything i really love until now. and these are the largest size they come in with offsets that fit.

i toyed with the rpf1's but it was never love, and the fact that the fronts and rears were different dish just didn't sit right.

also toyed with the 9ulr's from 949 racing. but reading about people rubbing in the sizes i wanted with stock suspension didn't help, and again, it was never full on adoration for the wheel.

but these new ones i just can't stop staring at them.

cheers loon, i'll have a look around at tyres in that size.

just out of interest am i looking at definite rubbing with the 225?

i suppose i could run 215 and if it seems fine then next tyre change go up to 225

Paul j runs 225 front on OEM 17's very low on BC coilovers with no rubbing. If the wheels have a lower offset then I guess there is no guarantee.

I wouldn't run a 225 on a 7inch wheel it will have slot of sidewalk bulge

its a 7.5 front, but i think i shall take the wise advice of everyone on here and make sure i run 215's at the front, still bigger than the stock setup so i'm happy.

although on a side note the standard rear wheel is 7.5 but runs a 225 tyre. but a 55 sidewall not a 45 side wall.
