Had the S2k for my first weekend and had a bit of a play and now there are a few things on my mind to which I would appreciate a second opinion:

Apart from the annoyance that I cannot open the boot remotely and one of my Xenons not working, I'm loving it. Especially all the admiring glances.

1. Does anyone else with the Honda immobiliser have a problem with it arming itself after 30 secs automatically if the ignition is not started? I find I open the car, put something in the boot (after inserting the key in the lock ), then I get in and cannot start the car without first pressing the open button on the remote again. A tad annoying!

2. I hit VTec a couple of times now and seen the red lines flash, presumably for the engine to indicate "you have rinsed me out, please change gear, it hurts!", but I seems to be smelling a funny burning smell just afterward. I did have the heating on but is this normal?

3. What exactly is the setting on the fan/heating controls that looks like it should be used when the roof is down?

4. When the warning light on the petrol tank comes on, how much fuel is actually left and what is the furthest I can hope to get in distance once this happens?

5. When the engine is at idle should it be dead on 1k rpm (slightly thicker line) or one notch below?

Thanks guys,

MaKS

1. Yes, you can press the open button whilst the key is in the ignition though

2. Don't tend to hit the limiter on this car - did on my last one

3. Drivers side vent, vents next to gearknob and feet

4. God knows I try and fill mine when it gets to 200 - 230

5. Never really noticed

4. As a rule of thumb I tend to fill mine up between 240-260 miles, but I suppose it all depends on how much spirited driving you do. I read on here that someone managed to get around 300 miles to the tank, but thisn't isnt advisable as permenantly running fuel so low can damage the fuel pump.

MakS - Don't trust the fuel guage, it's not very consistent. Zero your trip after filling up and go on that. I do around 270/280 miles before looking for a station and thats fairly balanced motorway/traffic witha bit of vtec chucked in.

On the idle point - it will (as AMuse Boy pointed out to me recently) idle at 1600-2000rpm from cold, settling to around 1000rpm as it warms up.
