Oh, hold on, apparently Blackcircles have them £505 + fitting.
Lovegroova (was) wrong, of course.

They look like they'd be scary in the wet
They're a bit slidey cold (sound familiar?) but they are staggering in the dry and very good in the wet.

OK, torrents across the M25 due to non-maintenance are probably not their forte and snow is sooo right out.

Longevity will be a problem, or not, depending how you look at it.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and thoughts.
Part of the reason for looking at a new tyre/wheel package was due to the fact that I am going to need fairly soon 2 new rears anyway...which made me think about a change for all 4 to something different rather than just like for like....looks like its going to be an expensive couple of months.....

Mine had a thinned area, with a very small hole just starting. I healed the thinned area with a small patch of flexible black silicon sealant, and then covered that with sticky felt. Worked very well. Do you want pictures? Only works before breakthough or a very small hole - don't want the sealant to find its way through.
Gav - thanks for the offer, but I don't think I will get away with such a repair. Having had the hood down yesterday, and looking closer today, their is clear wear at either end - it's almost like a material run, and I can only see it enlarging with continued use

Have been looking at replacement roof's on ebay - do breakers really think that £500 odd for a second hand roof without fitting is the right price?
Monsoon will supply a brand new one with all wiring for a shade under £550 - fitted for £798.
Yet breakers seem to think that a secondhand roof with no provenance and obvious wear is worth £579

Falkens v AD08's are not in the same stratosphere

In my view get the wheels/tyres, patch the roof.

I think they're pretty staggering in the wet. I've been chucking it round rain-sodden roundabouts like it's a hot sunny day. Ice and grit don't seem to have much effect either.

But they did go from hero to zero in snow.

for all 4 as follows:

Yokohama Advan Neova AD08
2 x 225/50 R16 V (92 ) £285.00
2 x 205/55 R16 V (91 ) £220.22

You have not selected a fitting centre.
Order Total:£505.22

Whether they actually have them in stock might be a different matter.
You can save a bit more by buying the fronts from Camskill at £196 delivered for the pair.

So that'll be £285 + £196 = £481

I think I'm going to go for Toyos next set. Reason being that I've never liked the handling balance on 225s (Eagle F1s at the moment) since the S02s were discontinued.

I ran Eagle F1 GSD2s on the 245 size when I first had the car and it handled fine.

On the 225s I just think the grip balance front to rear isn't quite right.
