Try Captain Tolly's Creeping Crack Cure, use it on my Landrover on the rubber seals, its very thin and works on capillary action sucking itself into the cracks and crannies, they sell it at boat yards, don't know if its what you would use on vinyl roofs though.
The name is so brill everyone should have a bottle on the bathroom shelf anyway.

Both of mine have leaked from where the joint is half way along the top of the window. By the sounds of it yours does the same AJ. Put the roof down and look at where these two joints butt together. Mine had a small channel between the rubber And metal frame that sits behind the rubber. Whenever parked up, especially on a hill this channel would collect water and then when you drive off it pours all over your passenger seat, in your face and lap so by time you getvto work it looks like youve pissed yourself

All I did was fill the hole with a bit of silicone sealant and it's been fine since. Give it a try, it's a 10 min job

Mines started leaking really bad this week. Had a bit of a fiddle around today and noticed waters getting inside the rubber seal so water sits around the metal rail. If I put the brakes on my knee gets very wet.

Tried tucking the rubber in tighter thinking that would be the problem but no avail. Any tips greatly welcome.

My leak was a gradual thing .... and it gradually got worse.

Only thing that fixed it was a replacement roof from Monsoon

+1, and then it went down hill again.

One thing for sure is water makes its way into the rails, from anywhere it can over a short period of time and sits there, when i compared one side (one side didn't leak) to another there was a difference in the lip (where it meets the roof, but didnt follow it up).

However i have solved the leaking roof... bought a hardtop!

Its not my roof I've only had this one on about 8 months.

I think hard top is the answer though, wonder if I've got a spare grand knocking about.

You dont need a grand, you can get them for around £450-500 2nd hand and just by a Izze fitting kit from the states for around £100 shipped, so around £550.

They never pop up in NFR though, so would need to get it sprayed. Most liekly will put up with soggy knee syndrome until its roof down weather.

I had the same issues with leaks from seal at A-pillar and mid way along the seal. Tried cleaning and greasing the seals mulitiple times, spent over an hour going along all the seals making sure they were fitted correctly with no gaps, tears or holes, waterproofed the vynal and applied more grease. All to no avail.

2002 car with roof in very good condition - no visible rips, tears or cracks.

It was getting to a point where I was fed up with it (living in Scotland it rains alot!) and was considering selling up.

I have now purchased a hard-top so will not be selling!
