Just purchased a set of v1 face lift wheels. they are in need refurbishing and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations in the Cardiff area?

I have been getting quotes for around £150 per-wheel to restore the diamond finish.

Was thinking about getting them powder coated instead.

Price is a concern.

theres a place called "love your car" on hadfield road...havnt used it, but considering sending my s2k there for a few touchups.

forgot to add...when i went down to check them out...they had a red s2k ready to go out..it looked good.

Don't bother with diamond cut finish, it's very fragile and will last one year max before you get moisture creeping under the lacquer. And £150 a corner is fecking expensive.

I had the wheels (old MR2 turbo with oem rims) done by Prestige refurbishment, they offered me the choice of either 'diamond turned with coating' or 'fine diamond turned without lacquer' and the inners painted anthracite....I went with fine diamond turning, the idea being that there is no lacquer to cause problems later on, you simply use metal polish to remove any oxidising on the surface.

cool ill check that place out and get some quotes, I've phone 2 places that were meant to be getting back to me but neither bothered?!? perhaps everyone is that busy.
Will update with some new quotes from different companies.

I visited flat out on Penarth Rd when they started a few years ago and they couldn't do them so don't know if they've progressed. There's a diamond specialist in Brackla Ind Est that looked good but I didn't get them re-done diamond in the the end due to cost and the lacquer won't last. A mate had his turned and polishes them regular which looks good and is fine as long you enjoy cleaning :-)
