Ahhhh Buntingford road - you just cannot go wrong if you want a nice twisty drive! I don't know what's more fun along there, the bike or the car.

Heh I was looking over that when my car was serviced back in November, the rear discs were rusted to f*ck and the paintwork had swirls on top of swirls. Wonder if they actually made an effort to clear it up a bit since then.

Yes. New rear discs and pads all round were fitted and it was given a good polish. Also new bridgestones on the rear. It could do with another polish just to get it 100% as there is the odd swirl left.

It is well worth it, I found it on Piston Heads:

"Ah, my specialist subject has arrived!

Try this: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Potters+Bar,+H...

The eastern half (Essex border and the A507) is arguably better than the western half.

In a nutshell: B158 from Potters Bar to Hertford, B1004 to Bishops Stortford, B1051 to Thaxted, B184 north for a bit, A507 (the good bit is Baldock to Buntingford...) and then down the B656.

This is twisty country roads the whole way. They are wide enough and sufficiently well sighted for enthusiastic driving, but it's more sports car or hot hatch territory than GT. Police are known to keep an eye on the B184 and the A507, but there's a very good reason - these are probably the best roads in Herts. Watching that final section of the A507 on a sunny evening is like standing on the road to the Nurburgring, you'll lose count of interesting cars and bikes."

The plan is to just enjoy induction roar this time around

On those B roads the power was perfect, I couldn't have used any more. Some of the A roads, where it opened up, I was thinking an extra 100bhp or so would be nice right about now...
